Almost Disappearing: Reclaiming Lectures and Literary Readings
In the Interactive Lecture, Corazon shares her experience of being anorexic and points out the key issues in anorexia from the perception of the woman who suffers this condition. She then helps the participants to physically experience some key issues of the anorexic condition. For a more in-depth experience, request a combination of the Literary Reading and Interactive lecture or performance. Storytelling and Literary Readings
In the literary reading, Corazon Tierra begins with a reading from a chapter of Almost Disappearing: Reclaiming the Territory of my Body. The reading often includes poems in which Corazon depicts the powerful feelings that are taking a hold of her body and soul as she shrinks her vital space in an effort to control her body and to be perfect. This brief reading is followed by a Q & A section in which the audience members can ask questions. Corazon is a deep listener and has the ability to read body language and energy to answer not only the overt question, but the emotional content imbedded in this question. Organizations have the option of purchasing the book (if available) at bulk rate, or to purchase internet products gift cards for free distribution among the audience.
