"You must fully give to yourself in order to have something to give to others without burning out," affirms Maria Mar, who underwent a 12-year intensive training as a Woman of Power. "The most powerful gift you have to give to your loved ones, to the world, is your own Presence. If you neglect yourself, betray your talents and forget your dreams, all you have left to give is your slavery. It models only slavery, and empowers no one."

The Mayan Prophecies
"You know how stressful it is to spend your life under the sun, with no moon, no night?" Maria Mar asks. "In regards to power, that's how we are living!"
Archetypically, the Moon represents the Female Face of Power, the Goddess energy in nature and in humanity. The Moon is linked to emotional intelligence, intuition, feelings and emotions. It is the pathway to the dimensions of magic, poetry and art and to the mysterious world of the psyche, such as dreams, astral traveling and psychic abilities. The Moon receives and transmits the light of the Sun to magnify her own gift to humanity. Therefore, it is linked with the power of receptivity, beingness and Oneness, as well as interpenetration. It also represents the Female Way of Knowing. Like the right brain hemisphere, this way of knowing is metaphoric and intuitive, but it is equally important to your life and well-being as the left-brain hemisphere. As a woman, you wilt if you forsake your Female Shield or aspect!
Conversely, the Sun represents the Male Face of Power, the God energy. It is linked to the left-brain hemisphere and logical thinking, analytical intelligence and the principle of organization. The light of the sun penetrates everything, illuminating the patterns of creation. Therefore, it embodies action, penetration and externally directed focus. It ignites growth and therefore also embodies the principle of action or activity.
A quick look at these two forces reveals that our society is living constantly under the sun, turning its back on the Moon. We value technology, mathematics and science and cut money for the arts. When we teach language arts, we emphasis the technology of language, rather than its art to express the Soul and capture the beauty of the world. We despise receptivity as passivity and are always moving, doing, thinking. We are not even conscious that we are making the Female Powers invisible! Though they embody all that gives meaning to and all that enriches our lives, as a society, we stopped seeing their importance long ago.
"This creates a tension in the fabric of your being as a woman," Maria Mar explains. "In order to be heard and valued you must betray or ignore the half of your being that is most strong in you, your Female Shield. When you intuitively seek your Female Powers, you may find that the world cannot see or appreciate your gifts."
The time has come for you to break this spell, not only for yourself, but for your loved ones and for all humanity. It is about time that you ReMember your Goddess nature!
