| Almost Disappearing Reclaiming the Territory of my Body |
| In this lecture I share the story of how I discovered the true source of my power. As a teenager, I believed that the only way to manifest my dreams was by propelling myself with the mind. But when I found myself trapped in anorexia unable to express my feelings, I realized that good grades were not enough to achieve my dreams. Then, when I healed from anorexia, I realized that the true source of my power was not in formulas designed by the mind, but in my heart. As I do in the novel, I weave the experiences of my childhood and adolescence that lead to my condition of anorexia, sharing some of the teachings I learned in my training as a Woman of Power. This training, the Path of the Swan, helped me to undestand that the divorce between the Male and Female Shields of our society, which creates a polarity between love and power, was a key element in the development of my eating disorder. It helped me to discover, buried in my wound, my path to personal power. As I applied what I learned to my own condition, I developed Journey to the Center, my own path to heal anorexia. I share insights from this path with the audience, helping them understand how they can transform the fears and beliefs that are creating an anorexic way of life into a new definition of power. I have been sharing this path with young women and adults from three continents: USA, Africa and Spain. My book and my reading/lecture bring home to you the power, awareness, tools and perceptions that can transform anorexia into the marriage of love and power.
